Dr. Richard J. Buttimer is Professor of Real Estate and Finance in the Belk College of Business, University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He holds a Ph.D. and B.B.A. from the University of Georgia. He specializes in derivative and real estate finance. His research interests are mortgage valuation, default modeling, and the application of options theory to real estate problems. He has published papers that examine the use of financial risk management techniques within government in a number of academic journals including Real Estate Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, The Review of Futures Markets, The Journal of Housing Economics, and the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking. Dr. Buttimer has worked with many of our hedge fund clients, valuing both domestic and international instruments including warrants, convertibles, swaps, fixed-income investments, mortgages, PIPEs, and private equities.
